In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) has created a series of initiatives to promote computing and information technology amongst the younger generation and build their programming skills. The initiatives are designed to encourage students at all levels of education to develop their coding skills in order to keep pace with future technological developments. .
Why is the Ministry of Transportation encouraging schools to participate?
- To give all school students the opportunity to learn programming in a simplified and fun way.
- To strengthen school programming efforts..
- Provide an opportunity for schools to participate in national initiatives and play their community role in government initiatives.
- This participation is a clear demonstration of the school's interest in implementing the STEM system in its classrooms.
- Include the school in the list that will participate in the programming festival (Codefest), which will be organized by the Ministry of Transport and Communications for Children.
- To give talented and outstanding students the opportunity to compete and win the 2019 Programming Festival Awards by the Ministry of Transport and Communication.
The initiative has three levels of participation:
1. Involve the school students in a one-hour event with one of the initiative's distinguished ambassadors in the field of programming..
2 - Undertaking an hour of programming activities with many schools in Qatar. to enhance the skills and abilities of students in programming and the school will determine the number of students targeted by this initiative in the first event.
3 - Nomination of outstanding school students to participate in the codefest at Digital Youth Festival 2019
